A partnership agreement between Internews and Radio France Internationale (RFI) is making possible the broadcast of a daily programme in Creole on RFI’s FM relays in Haiti since 13th February.
Thanks to this partnership the Internews broadcast, already aired by 27 stations in Haiti, cans also be heard additionally now via RFI’s six FM relays on the island, which cover the whole Haitian territory.
The 20-minute broadcast, "Enfomasyon nou dwe konnen" ("News you can use") can now also be heard via RFI relays in Haiti between 0810 and 0830 local time, Mondays through Sundays.
The programme is aimed at giving Haitians information enabling them to find food, shelter and water, helping them connect to loved ones who survived and eventually to rebuild.
The development of this broadcast was made possible thanks to the close cooperation of the teams of both organizations in the field, to RFI’s technical setup and to the close collaboration between Internews Europe’s management and RFI’s International Affairs Directorate.

OCHA asked Internews to be the main agency coordinating the activities of CDAC members and initiatives aimed at supporting local media in order to ensure the most effective impact on the country’s ravaged media landscape.
